Tours in French kick off a season of foreign language tours at the William Rolland Gallery of Fine Art

Friday, January 31, 2014  |  10:30 am-3:30 pm

Brush up on your French by joining CLU French classes and community members as they are toured around the exhibition Gotta Dance! The Art of the Dance Movie Poster from the Mike Kaplan Collection in French. To begin, visitors will receive a worksheet with simple phrases and questions in French that will help stimulate and refresh their conversation skills as they view the gallery individually before each tour begins. Next, CLU French students with near-native fluency will lead discussions of several posters, allowing a dialogue in English and French depending on the visitor’s preference. Tours will be geared toward students with an elementary through advanced understanding of French, so all levels of French enthusiasts are welcome and encouraged.

Tours will begin at the following intervals: 10:30 am, 11:45 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:15 pm* (* denotes more advanced French class). Refreshments will be served throughout the day. Special thanks to Dr. Karen Renick for organizing and developing this event, and to our sponsor, the Department of Languages and Culture. We hope to see you there! À la prochaine, et bonne journée!
