William Rolland Gallery of Fine Art
160 Overton Court
Thousand Oaks, CA 91360
Our exhibition, Traces: Revealing Secrets in Art and History, has gotten a lot of requests for the related class “Chemical Investigations of Art,” so Drs. Katherine Hoffmann and Robert Dion will be opening up one of their classes to the public. This class will meet in the Rolland Gallery and feature a lecture and slide presentation which will last approximately 45 minutes.
Light is a chemical, with a range of energy and “color” far wider than what we generally appreciate with our eyes. This lecture details the basic chemistry of light and fluorescence and will prepare chemistry students to apply this expanded range of light to the art exhibit in the gallery. The short lecture will precede a partial tour of the exhibit.
This lecture is free and open to all, please RSVP to rtschmid@callutheran.edu.
