Join us for an artist lecture by Seth Tane, whose work is currently featured as part of the exhibition The Beautiful: Contemporary Images of America, which closes Oct. 2. Tane will be traveling from Oregon and lecturing about how modern technology informs traditional methods of painting.
From the artist: “I’ve had a remarkably varied and interesting life path en route to my current full time activity as a representational painter. Now over 60, I’ve had the time and opportunity to design my life in a way that has encouraged visual stimulation and observation as essential parts of whatever I was doing at the time. With the advent of cloud-based document creation and image capture, storage and editing, many of us now have access to powerful tools to assist in making meaningful lifelong entries into our ledgers. As an example, I’ll illustrate how my personal collection of images from the past and present has informed and affected my life and art.”
Reception will follow lecture. Free and open to the public.
